Father Son Campout

Aaron didn't have to work this year during our Stake's father/son campout so he called our friend Will Penrose to see if he and his boys wanted to ride with and go camp overnight. The boys were all so excited. I watched Riley Penrose on Saturday while Angie had a photo shoot and he informed me that I was not invited because I was a girl and this was for boys only!

Here is Dilan, Tanner, and McKay.

Dilan and McKay sitting around the campfire. (It sounds so 90210 to say Dilan McKay).

Here is Riley and Atwood. These boys LOVE playing together. They would probably play together every day if they could. Unfortunately Angie and I get busy and don't arrange this as often as we should. When they do play together,

Dilan & McKay again having fun with the fire.

The best part about camping is smelling like smoke right?

This was on the car ride to the father/son campout. I would say these two boys are just a LITTLE excited!

Point Defiance field trip

I got to go on a field trip with Dilan this year to the zoo. He gets so excited to go and loves it when I can go with. Hopefully he'll always want to hang with his mom! He is a good kid and loves learning about the animals.

I was in charge of Dilan and his friend Chase.

These little critters were one of Dilan's favorites. If I remember right, they are some sort of Asian otter. (I could be totally wrong, but they were pretty cute).

These birds were so colorful. We had a stick and trid to feed them birdseed, but they must not have been hungry.

Dilan loved this beluga whale too.

Happy Birthday Atwood!

Atwood was very excited for his birthday this year. He loves that he has a whole day about him. As soon as his birthday was over, he was asking when his next birthday was.
We love Atwood and his sense of humor. I can't believe he is old enough to be starting Kindergarten in just a couple short months! He is such a little stud and so much fun.

From the family, he got a new Wii game, a Leapster game, and some Bakugan toys.

He was showing me how a big boy rides a skateboard.

Atwood wanted a volcano cake. (Last month, we went to Rain Forest Cafe with Grandma and Grandpa Kilstrom. For grandpa's birthday, they brought him a volano). Atwood wanted the same thing grandpa had. It is basically three triangle brownie pieces with stacked vanilla ice cream, topped with whip cream, chocolate and caramel.

The kids LOVED it.

Because Atwood has been doing swimming lessons, he wanted his part at the Enumclaw Pool. Here are some of the boys from the party.

After swimming, we had cupcakes, fruit kabobs, and juice boxes.

Of course everyone's favorite...present time!

One of Atwood's favorite presents (if not his favorite) was his hedgehog "Sonic". Cousin Brevin told his mom that he wanted to get this for Atwood because Atwood loves Sonic the hedgehog from video games.
He had such a great birthday with lots of family and friends!

Pine Wood derby

Dilan had his first pine wood derby in May. He decided he wanted a truck style derby racer so he and Aaron went to work. Dilan painted it all and actually ended up doing much better than we had anticipated. Aaron was out of town so I was giving him play by play with texting. Dilan ended up taking 4th overall. He won his heats and had to do a race-off for 3rd place, but got beat at the end. He had a great time and is excited for next year.
